The Millard family runs an amazing operation that is truly centered on the success of their clients! They are overwhelmingly knowledgeable and great people! In one year I was able to harvest the two largest deer I’ve ever taken and had an amazing time doing it with them! I’d highly recommend them to anyone out there, especially knowing how hard it is to put that coveted Iowa buck tag success in someone else’s care!

I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had with Big Buck Down outfitters. They treated me better than I have ever been treated with an outfitter and they made accommodations for my needs with the handicap I have. I had an amazing experience and saw multiple bucks on some of my sits. I was thrilled with the Buck that I harvested, as it was certainly the biggest Whitetail I have ever shot. I have hunted with a lot of Outfitters across the country and in Canada and I can say, without reservation, that BBD Outfitters leads the pack. After waiting to draw an Iowa archery tag for five years you want the best opportunity to harvest a buck that truly represents Southeastern Iowa and so you try to choose an outfitter that will work their tail off to give you the best opportunity. From the excellent accommodations to the quality of the Deer available on their managed properties BBD Outfitters exceeded every expectation. I harvested my Iowa buck and couldn’t be happier with him and the entire experience. Corbin - Caleb and Reed have done an outstanding job and I will see them again as soon as I can draw another archery tag. Thank you guys for a great time and a great deer!!!

My brother and I just got back from BBD Outfitters. This was our first experience hunting in Iowa, and it is where we always dreamed of going. It did not disappoint as we both tagged a buck, I also would have given a 5 start rating even if I had not shot anything. I cant say enough positive things about our time there. Corbin and Caleb are outstanding to deal with and they truly care about the experience that you have. The whole staff will work tirelessly to make sure that your hunt is a hunt of a lifetime. The lodge, food, and people were all great during our time there. All the guides are great but my brother and I had Jim as our guide. There truly are not enough words to describe the friendship that developed with Big Buck guide Jim :), he is one of a kind and was truly a blessing to us! The only disappointing thing, is that it will take another 4-5 years to draw our points again but when we do we will be back with BBD outfitters. If you are on the fence on who to use as an outfitter you can rest easy knowing that BBD outfitters will do everything they can to make your dream hunt come true!

My Dad and I chose BBD for our first guided hunt and we were not disappointed. Great accommodations, food and overall hunting experience. We both tagged mature bucks on the second night but the trip didn’t end there. We rode along with several guides on scouting trips and saw more of the ground and deer they have to hunt. Their knowledge of deer movement and stand placement along with food plot locations allows them to put you in the best position to harvest an animal. Even if we had not harvested an animal we would still highly recommend BBD Outfitters.

BBD far exceeded my expectations!! Great facilities, great hunting properties, and excellent stand setups. However, it’s the effort by the BBD team that really differentiates these guys from my previous experiences. These guys work very hard to put you in the best possible hunting situation.

My wife and I just wanted to take the time to commend BBD Outfitters for the incredible experience we just had during my wife's gun 1 hunt in Iowa. From reception until the end of the hunt, Corbina and Caleb, along with the whole supporting cast at BBD, did everything possible to ensure that her hunt was a great experience. BBD is a professionally managed outfitter that focuses on providing the complete package. From lodging to the food to the family atmosphere, we were already convinced that we would be returning before we ever made it to hunting. There has clearly been an amazing amount of time and effort devoted to maximizing the quality of buck production on the many farms they manage. She hunted numerous stand locations with expansive flood plots, and the biggest challenge we faced was ensuring that we did not miss observing any of the deer around us. We had more deer than we could count on several of the hunts, and on the third evening hunt, my wife was fortunate to harvest a great-looking 10 point. There is no doubt that we will be back now that we have found the best outfitter in southeast Iowa (zone 5 & 6). 2021

BBD Outfitters is the place where your whitetail dreams can come true; from the family atmosphere at the lodge, the home cooked meals and amazing rooms they put their hunters up in, to the seemingly endless number of farms and the high quality of deer in the zones they cover all adds up to an experience you’ll never forget!
Even if you take away the service and amenities BBD offers it’s hunters, the quality of the whitetail genetics in the zones they cover and the shear number of shooter bucks on their farms is enough to put them in the top rankings. However, taking everything into account, BBD Outfitters is second-to-none.
I tagged my buck on day #1 and although I haven’t officially scored him yet, he will surely go 170+. I’m still riding the high over a week later! Needless to say,
I’ll be back at BBD and if you’re in the market to book a guided hunt in SE Iowa look no further than BBD.
